Action – Research – Development is a non-profit organization. Our ambition is to identify the health and well-being needs of populations with a particular interest for women.
Action-Research-Development was created on 8 September 2008 in the city of Marseille (France). Action – Research – Development aims at identifying the health and well-being needs of populations with a particular interest for women. We propose and implement actions to respond to these needs in a concrete way, documenting our actions with empirical researches that will enable them to be evaluated and (re) oriented.
- The aims of the association are:
- Promote research for development.
- Actively participate in the development and implementation of applied research projects.
- Develop actions to empower women.
- Initiate actions to help people living in poverty.
Our projects focus on health, well-being and daily life issues. Below describe what we do and what we plan to do.
Locapoussette : is a trademark of Action-Research-Development. It is a project we have initiated in order allow women to continue enjoying physical activity (jogging-running-marathons) after the birth of a child. We provide them with a stroller tailored for sports. We deliver the equipment on demand at home or in our rental points.
Marathons : we will be wearing our espadrilles for the 5 km Sports Experts which will be held at the Université Laval on April 23rd 2017. This is also a way to promote LocaPoussette. We will enjoy the spring with baby (s) in the stroller. Race information and registration http://www.ccp.sas.ulaval.c a/.
Nannies : we propose « emergency nannies » in Quebec City. A network of skilled volunteer (women), who give three to four hours of their time each week, to help families in need. Starting on April 25, 2017.
Salem : we build/dream (of) Salem, a house dedicated to the heart and well-being in the South of Morocco. Salem is one of the master project of ou organization. Feasibility and impact studies in progress.
Delivery house in Chefchaouen : we are attending the salon des Innovatives to promote the delivery house in Chefchaouen. The « delivery house in Chefchaouen » is a first application of what we are doing within Build_Care (see below) and intend to do for Salem.

Changing eating behaviours: Cardiovascular diseases now constitute a global threat to public health. They are already a major burden on health systems, often associated with « bad » individual behaviors. To reduce the burden of these diseases, the need for « behavior change » is often highlighted. It is then important to know what are the right behaviors and which kind of incentives could be used to impulse individual behavioral changes. We are implementing an exploratory qualitative study in this perspective.
